Juan Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th minute of play. The Cöpacabana FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cöpacabana FC's Juan Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cöpacabana FC from getting a goal against them. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Juan Alvarenga made a huge save. Juan Alvarenga made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. The Netherlands players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
