Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Froylan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Froylan having to interfere. Alfonso Froylan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 35th minute of the match. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfonso Froylan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pastor Domeka was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Pastor Domeka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Pastor Domeka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfonso Froylan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atilano Medero hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 77th minute of the game was made by Arnulfo Matai with Pastor Domeka as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Artemio Libertad helped the player get up and apologised. 90 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfonso Froylan. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Pastor Domeka. But to his dismay, Pastor Domeka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
