Santiago Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 16th minute of the match. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Damián Åkerman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gust Ennemans hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damián Åkerman got free with Arnout Reekers in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute INTER de Córdoba were awarded a corner. Eustaquio Bazkoare went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on INTER de Córdoba's corner Eustaquio Bazkoare fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. If Genaro Tauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Santiago Torres firmly grabbed it by the left post. Genaro Tauro hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. INTER de Córdoba's Santiago Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santiago Torres. INTER de Córdoba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. INTER de Córdoba made a substitution. Dante Isauro replaced Vladimiro Lage. In the 72nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. INTER de Córdoba's Wictor Tinglöv was substituted for Eustaquio Bazkoare. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Isauro in the 80th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genaro Tauro kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Dante Isauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. INTER de Córdoba's Santiago Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when INTER de Córdoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Tauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by INTER de Córdoba's Dante Isauro. But to his dismay, Dante Isauro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.
