An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Alfonso in the 3rd minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jair Busquets in the 7th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, The Masters's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Folkert Vos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jair Busquets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folkert Vos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Viriato Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folkert Vos having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jair Busquets got free with Wilson Amorim in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folkert Vos was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Francisco Innocenzio struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Masters. The Masters were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
