Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Denmark's Chris Nygaard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Chris Nygaard notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Young Ostend United's Loid Gijsbrechts. Loid Gijsbrechts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Denmark's Keld Paulsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Denmark from getting a goal against them. Keld Paulsen made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Johnny Van Hoeyvelt sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Roggen's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Roggen helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Young Ostend United got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Roggen. 24 minutes into the match, Denmark's Chris Nygaard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Denmark's Chris Nygaard in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Young Ostend United's goalie prevented a goal. Loid Gijsbrechts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Nygaard in the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raymond Rutgeerts during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Denmark booed when Young Ostend United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Rutgeerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Chris Nygaard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Nygaard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chris Nygaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loid Gijsbrechts having to interfere. Loid Gijsbrechts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Roggen got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Raymond Rutgeerts made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Mikkel Wulff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mikkel Wulff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 55 minutes, Raymond Rutgeerts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A sloppy throw-in by Aime Van Beylen in the 60th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Olav Graversen. Pino Coryn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natan De Mayer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keld Paulsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Brian Smet's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 83 minutes, Pino Coryn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Young Ostend United and the Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Young Ostend United getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Pino Coryn hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Brian Smet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th match minute, Young Ostend United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Van Hoeyvelt to maneuver through the defense. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denmark's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
