With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Safadão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 13 minutes into the match, Johannes Kruuse notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Les Misèrables's Douglas Safadão. Douglas Safadão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 20 minutes of play, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Johannes Kruuse made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Douglas Safadão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, Johannes Kruuse notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Les Misèrables's Douglas Safadão. Douglas Safadão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Douglas Safadão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Kruuse in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute S.C. Corinthians Paulista were awarded a corner. Maurício Rodrigues went to the cornerflag to take it. After 26 played minutes S.C. Corinthians Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Johannes Kruuse. Ciro da Silveira scored 0-4 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Douglas Safadão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Les Misèrables's goal looked a bit too open when Johannes Kruuse came free, but Douglas Safadão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Les Misèrables's Douglas Safadão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Kruuse in the 35th minute of play. Johannes Kruuse might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Douglas Safadão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johannes Kruuse ran back to his position shaking his head. Douglas Safadão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johannes Kruuse, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Les Misèrables's goalkeeper Douglas Safadão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match S.C. Corinthians Paulista got a corner. Les Misèrables's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maurício Rodrigues ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Johannes Kruuse came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the S.C. Corinthians Paulista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johannes Kruuse couldn't finish the play. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Les Misèrables! Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gill De Raeijmaeker to strike the kick off in the second half. Douglas Safadão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes Kruuse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglas Safadão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Evandro Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Safadão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evandro Trancoso in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. After taking down the ball on Les Misèrables's corner Robbie Raes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fırat Aytekin quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro da Silveira got free with Douglas Safadão in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
