The audience thought a goal was coming when Matthis Paelemans got free with Arnout Reekers in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathijn Doctor charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathijn Doctor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor got a free kick in the 15th minute. Arnout Reekers was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Chu Zhen Xun. Mahmud Alp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some careless play in the ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mahmud Alp. The ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mahmud Alp should have stopped the shot. In the last second Arnout Reekers throw himself and got hold of the ball when Chu Zhen Xun in the 23rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chu Zhen Xun in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matthis Paelemans. The crowd rose to their feet as ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Abubakar Kamarád slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-1 after 36 minutes of play. After 38 played minutes ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Emanúel Iturbe. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 1-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mahmud Alp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the game, Lars Meesters cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Mahmud Alp was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 1-3.

In the 51st minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mahmud Alp saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 60th minute of play forced ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s goalkeeper Mahmud Alp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Egbert Nijveldt got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-4. 61 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abubakar Kamarád in the 68th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anestis Tsoukalas kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Mathijn Doctor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute of the match Chu Zhen Xun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers skillfully saved the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Abubakar Kamarád shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mahmud Alp. Gustaaf Groeneveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mahmud Alp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
