The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Laguna got free with Fernandão Vides in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goal looked a bit too open when Percival de Souza came free, but Vito Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vito Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 34 played minutes LauerArmy got a freekick which was hit by James Rodriguez. In the 35th minute Agnaldo Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agnaldo Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Fernandão Vides made a huge save. Vito Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho Cruz in the 39th minute of play. Pedrinho Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito Furlan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrinho Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to LauerArmy getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Elano Andrade hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agnaldo Lopes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, PEÇONHENTO FC MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony de Lima to maneuver through the defense. Vito Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival de Souza in the 59th minute of the match. Percival de Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Vito Furlan made a huge save. When Pedro Luiz de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the LauerArmy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luiz de Moraes couldn't finish the play. The supporters of LauerArmy booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viggo Nordal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agnaldo Lopes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandão Vides read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Agnaldo Lopes scored 2-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandão Vides, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vito Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz de Moraes in the 92nd minute of play.

LauerArmy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
