The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maurinho da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 5th minute. Valdemar Cruz's late challenge caught a Nova Venécia-ES's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdemar Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. 7 minutes into the match, FLU ES fc's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Tavares came free, but Maurinho da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurinho da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 11th minute. Zeca Custódio tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Maurinho da Costa. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-0 in the 13th minute. Maurinho da Costa was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Dino Tavares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dino Tavares really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Natã Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Maurinho da Costa made a huge save. In the 24th match minute, FLU ES fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Custódio to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Abelardo Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Gustavo Botelho scored 3-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurinho da Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natã Quintal in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurinho da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Natã Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Venécia-ES's supporters rose to their feet, but Natã Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurinho da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Natã Quintal was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Natã Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurinho da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Nova Venécia-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Tales Almeida came free, but Robinho de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Robinho de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FLU ES fc's Eusébio Leal got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Maurinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Valladares in the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Luís Gustavo Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurinho da Costa. FLU ES fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Gustavo Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 73rd minute Dino Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Valladares took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maurinho da Costa. Maurinho da Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 79th minute, Dino Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nova Venécia-ES fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. In the 82nd minute Luís Gustavo Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Tales Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abelardo Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Quintal in the 89th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, FLU ES fc's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Botelho came free, but Maurinho da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Nova Venécia-ES had played much better football throughout.
