In the 13thth minute of the game Carlisle Fenwick who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 14th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fodor Daniel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Stevens in the 34th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balazs Lajos in the 39th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Valentin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martyon Diehl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 44th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Boroondara Milan defense, Antal Valentin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martyon Diehl. The Boroondara Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martyon Diehl should have stopped the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antal Valentin was the one to do the kick off. Martyon Diehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 51st minute of play. Takacs Tibor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyon Diehl having to interfere. When Carlisle Fenwick came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Boroondara Milan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlisle Fenwick couldn't finish the play. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paco Everett might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fodor Daniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paco Everett ran back to his position shaking his head. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyon Diehl having to interfere. Boroondara Milan made a substitution. Rusty Reynolds replaced Paco Everett. The supporters of Hungary booed when Boroondara Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Atkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes of play, Hungary's Antal Valentin made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martyon Diehl was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 82nd minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyon Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Martyon Diehl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Major Barna. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benny Atkin during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benny Atkin kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Boroondara Milan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hungary were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
