The audience was convinced that Rigan Frankson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnold Szuper was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 32 minutes into the game, Fábio Salgueiro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Szombathely Squirrels's Bai Jun Chong quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 34th minute, Tivadar Demeter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Szombathely Squirrels fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 47th minute of the match. Szombathely Squirrels's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bai Jun Chong in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rigan Frankson to strike the kick off in the second half. Tivadar Demeter scored 0-4 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ter Stegen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ter Stegen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tivadar Demeter's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Tivadar Demeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The 1948 MKS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Szombathely Squirrels's performance. The match ended with a win for Szombathely Squirrels.
