After 2 minutes, Viriato Moura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal and the Днепр ФК players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viriato Moura to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaspar Calisto went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 8th minute Dmitriy Bogaenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Uwe Askri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Uwe Askri really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cengiz Ulutaş, made in the 13th minute of the game. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladislav Maksimychev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Felipe Barreto made a precise shot to the right of Vladislav Maksimychev. Днепр ФК's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Vladislav Maksimychev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Barreto's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladislav Maksimychev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vladislav Maksimychev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raul Caetano's late challenge caught a Днепр ФК's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raul Caetano helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Raul Caetano. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Felipe Barreto sped through Днепр ФК's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vladislav Maksimychev. Erwan Carnot kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Gaspar Calisto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Днепр ФК's Cengiz Ulutaş got a free kick in the 56th minute. Vladislav Maksimychev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Barreto's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After 57 minutes, Felipe Barreto made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Днепр ФК's Vladislav Maksimychev tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaspar Calisto struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Днепр ФК. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Rapp in the 62nd minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gaspar Calisto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 64 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Miranda. 65 minutes into the match, Днепр ФК's Erwan Carnot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dmitriy Bogaenko in the 68th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes of play, Днепр ФК's Gaspar Calisto made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Vladislav Maksimychev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipinho Amorim's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Rapp, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Bartolomeu Diass short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Vladislav Maksimychev to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bartolomeu Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vladislav Maksimychev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipinho Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladislav Maksimychev having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Gaspar Calisto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaspar Calisto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Bartolomeu Dias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Vladislav Maksimychev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. There was no doubt that Днепр ФК were the better team. Днепр ФК's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
