Gigio Buffone dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Fernando Lucas sped through Carp Team's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gigio Buffone. 15 minutes into the match, Fernando Lucas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigio Buffone. Carp Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Lucas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Gigio Buffone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Lucas in the 18th minute of the match. Independente FC's Marcelo Gröhe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Vulcan in the 20th minute of play. Gigio Buffone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Tande in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Tande in the 26th minute of play forced Carp Team's goalkeeper Gigio Buffone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nilson Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Tiago Vulcan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carp Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independente FC the free kick. In the 31st minute, Tiago Vulcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigio Buffone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Lucas went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. A collision led to Carp Team getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Tiago Vulcan hit a great ball. In the 38th minute Fernando Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigio Buffone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigio Buffone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilson Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gigio Buffone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Nilson Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Carp Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Veispak to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Carp Team's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Lucas came free, but Gigio Buffone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fernando Lucas made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, William Bounde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gigio Buffone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Edinho Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gigio Buffone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Nilson Duarte succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 66th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enver Hoxha in the 77th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Mihăiţă Sinulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
