After 7 minutes of play, Independente FC's Nilson Duarte made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rony de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 13 played minutes Izaltina FAD got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Correia. 15 minutes into the match, Independente FC's Fernando Lucas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rony de Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Adriano Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Fernando de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabríel Cristofor. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Neymar Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match, Adriano Tande got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rony de Medeiros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rony de Medeiros had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Adriano Tande's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Luiz Gustavo Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Rony de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabríel Cristofor might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelo Gröhe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabríel Cristofor ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neymar Santos in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Independente FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Izaltina FAD throughout the match.
