The referee ignored Preator Edikt's protests and gave Horia Tătaru a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Preator Edikt getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rony de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torbjörn Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 29 played minutes Preator Edikt got a freekick which was hit by Torbjörn Nilsson. In the 35th match minute, Izaltina FAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Paulista to maneuver through the defense. Horia Tătaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rony de Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Preator Edikt's Jim Hellström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Preator Edikt from getting a goal against them. Luís Gustavo Barbosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rony de Medeiros. Izaltina FAD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

Izaltina FAD's Rony de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Tătaru in the 51st minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Horia Tătaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rony de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Stig-Ove Blomqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Horia Tătaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rony de Medeiros was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game.
