In the 18th minute, Zhao Sen Yang left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Erik Norström saved Skövde AIK from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Chen Ao Fan came free, but Ivan Chiuzbaian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Zhao Sen Yang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Erik Norström was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 33rd minute Primitivo Grau suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Egídio Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Zhao Sen Yang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Erik Norström having to make a save. 42 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stasio Bienienda kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Zhao Sen Yang scored 1-4 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Erik Norström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 48th minute of the match, Chen Ao Fan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ivan Chiuzbaian was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kevin Keegan was the one to do the kick off. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melker Hjortsberg in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Kurt Hamrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Stasio Bienienda. Olov Ahlbeck kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Erik Norström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner. Olov Ahlbeck went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner Dacian Tilea fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl-Erik Norström quite easily take care of the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Erik Norström saved Skövde AIK from getting behind. After 70 minutes Skövde AIK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olov Ahlbeck who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Zhao Sen Yang got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-5. 71 minutes into the match. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 78th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 84th minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Zhao Sen Yang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Erik Norström was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
