An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Lico in the 5th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Edvaldo Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monte Hermoso Beach were furious when Claudio Bladi was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Monte Hermoso Beach! The score was 1-0 after a penalty in the 8th minute, where SORRISO E. C.:s Joaquim Queirós tricked Monte Hermoso Beach:s Fidel Lorien with a difficult ball by the left post. In the 13th minute Joaquim Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Lorien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florentino Gil charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Fidel Lorien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Faria in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Reinaldo Marquez got a free kick in the 56th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Arotza got free with Edvaldo Leal in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute SORRISO E. C. were awarded a corner. Vítor Sousa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Vítor Sousa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Monte Hermoso Beach's Fidel Lorien did a great save. After 66 minutes of play, SORRISO E. C.'s Jairo Madureira made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fidel Lorien was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fidel Lorien didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joaquim Queirós went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute, Arnaldo Matro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
