Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Major Barna might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cassiano Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Major Barna ran back to his position shaking his head. Tobias Brites sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Maurício Câmara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hungary's Takacs Tibor got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Hungary booed when GD Fiães was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Calado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Telmo Teves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes Hungary's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Telmo Teves who took care of the corner kick. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Telmo Teves's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Maurício Câmara took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Câmara in the 63rd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. GD Fiães made a substitution. Delyan Temelyotev replaced Severiano Calado. Cassiano Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takacs Tibor in the 84th minute of play. Fodor Daniel had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Telmo Teves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 87th minute of the match GD Fiães got a corner. Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Telmo Teves ran over to the corner to take the kick. GD Fiães's Telmo Teves was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fodor Daniel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 88 played minutes GD Fiães got a freekick which was hit by Angélico Vilar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo Teves in the 94th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. GD Fiães were victorious despite being under pressure from Hungary for much of the match.
