Damião Maia made in the 20th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sílvio Luís Ceresso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís Ceresso in the 25th minute of play forced Despidida AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Selatse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Toro Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ni Guang Yong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ni Guang Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toro Martínez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leandro Reis made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Despidida AFC's Szymon Pyrzyce. Ni Guang Yong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toro Martínez, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Despidida AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Rosen came free, but Fernando Selatse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Miguel Rodríguez made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís Ceresso in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Miguel Rodríguez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pinhote FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Despidida AFC made a substitution. Czeslaw Kopacz replaced Ancho Branca. Despidida AFC's Pastor Tino was substituted for Arturo Arano. In the 63rd minute Emiliano Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ni Guang Yong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Despidida AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
