An unexpectedly hard shot by Judas Verón in the 8th minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Belgrano de Pibasog's Judas Verón nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zacarias Ascencio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12thth minute of the game Judas Verón who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goal looked a bit too open when Judas Verón came free, but Zacarias Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zacarias Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Judas Verón, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After taking down the ball on Belgrano de Pibasog's corner Honorato Jerrold fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zacarias Ascencio quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Judas Verón in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zacarias Ascencio saved Celta de Virgos from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Judas Verón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zacarias Ascencio was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Bernardo Raggio made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Benny Niva sent off a good shot on target. After 41 played minutes Belgrano de Pibasog got a freekick which was hit by Blue Dolar.

The wind increased when Judas Verón made the kick off in the second half. Eustaquio Fortun hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. A collision led to Celta de Virgos getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Biagio Pavlu hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Judas Verón. 56 minutes into the game, Sergio Sayvion was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Celta de Virgos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgrano de Pibasog the free kick. Celta de Virgos made a substitution. David Astudillo replaced Benny Niva. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zacarias Ascencio firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 78th minute of the game Maximiano Delgado made a throw-in which Iulian Ilinca played forward. Silvio Abadia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Zacarias Ascencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Celta de Virgos from getting a goal against them. Bernardo Raggio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Astudillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Belgrano de Pibasog supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgrano de Pibasog would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
