Basri İhtiyar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Sanchez in the 11th minute of the match. The corner ended in Bernardino Rosio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Yalapa's Basri İhtiyar did a great save. Zacarias Ascencio made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Fermin Dolfo sent off a good shot on target. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Celta de Virgos from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fermin Dolfo got free with Zacarias Ascencio in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yalapa's Basri İhtiyar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Niva in the 26th minute of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 30th minute, but Zacarias Ascencio got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Celta de Virgos hanging dry this time. Yalapa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabian Rosalio in the 34th minute. The corner led Yalapa's Fabian Rosalio to fire away a dangerous shot which Zacarias Ascencio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 39th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fermin Dolfo to maneuver through the defense. When Yalapa's Fermin Dolfo in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Dolfo couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Fermin Dolfo struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Zacarias Ascencio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yalapa. With his leg Basri İhtiyar managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Celta de Virgos's Benny Niva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Celta de Virgos's Dario Elivareo was substituted for Ruben Gomez. Yalapa's Atilano Dino was substituted for Amedeo Biscotti. David Astudillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Basri İhtiyar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Bumin Hirfanlı came free, but Zacarias Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when Yalapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarmo Helm didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilla Bumin Hirfanlı to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Astudillo in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basri İhtiyar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexis Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Celta de Virgos's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
