The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Cutberto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Pink Floyd defense, Toni Mauzer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Cutberto. The Pink Floyd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Cutberto should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Croatia's zone, Cristobal Lizer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilija Skugor came out of the goal and Cristobal Lizer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute, Croatia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristobal Lizer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Mauzer in the 28th minute of play forced Pink Floyd's goalkeeper Humberto Cutberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Croatia's Ilija Skugor got control of the ball when Leo Tebaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toni Mauzer made a kick off. Ilija Skugor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Vela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
