Fabio Schneider hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Fabio Schneider got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 19 played minutes Austria got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Galishoff. Fabio Auer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorival Toledo in the 20th minute. After having played for 22 minutes, Dorival Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Guimarães's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorival Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 30 played minutes Austria got a freekick which was hit by Nico Waismann. Zé Paulo Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Paulo Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Paulo Furtado hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Austria's goalkeeper Fabio Auer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Toledo. Fabio Schneider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sílvio Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandro Galishoff made a kick off. Sandro Galishoff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Couto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Jonas Nalder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sílvio Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Riedl hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. C.A.Guimarães:s Sílvio Couto showed great skill when he stopped Sandro Galishoff:s penalty. Emil Seidler made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Sandro Galishoff however managed to control. C.A.Guimarães's Sílvio Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save C.A.Guimarães from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Toledo in the 76th minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Fabio Auer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Marcelo Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Sandro Galishoff in the 81st minute really tested Sílvio Couto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Fabio Schneider managed to get in a good position for a shot. Austria's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Schneider was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Couto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Marc Kronecker fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Austria's protests and gave Marc Kronecker a yellow card for diving instead. Marc Kronecker hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Sandro Galishoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Couto having to interfere. Fabio Schneider recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Austria players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
