With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raí de Moraes in the 6th managed to get into a good position. Sérgio Cearense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Raí de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 16 minutes, Sandro Galishoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Galishoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonhard Maier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. If Raí de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, invictus's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sandro Galishoff fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. invictus's Walmyr Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in invictus's zone, Fabio Schneider stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Cearense came out of the goal and Fabio Schneider tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandro Galishoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sérgio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
