A collision led to SPARROWS getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Hakan Emektar hit a great ball. In the 42nd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rayko Tzolovski. Vitko Hadzhiiliev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 44th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. 50 minutes into the match, SPARROWS's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Vitko Hadzhiiliev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viriato Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitko Hadzhiiliev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match, Felipe Barreto got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vitko Hadzhiiliev was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. It was Daniel Pimentel who took care of the corner kick. Vitko Hadzhiiliev made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Fabricio Andrade sent off a good shot on target. After 95 minutes of play, Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vitko Hadzhiiliev was left in no man's land by his defense there! The SPARROWS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
