The referee ignored Cometuétano's protests and gave Xuan Solera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cometuétano getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Xuan Solera hit a great ball. Germán Figueres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigor Barroso in the 7th minute of the match. Antoni Paris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Argenis Coira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres. Germán Figueres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute of the match, Manel Quintanilla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Miks Lecis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Miks Lecis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Félix Zărnescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miks Lecis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miks Lecis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paquito Rey, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zigor Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zigor Barroso in the 40th minute of play. Argenis Coira struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Germán Figueres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cometuétano. If Eugeniusz Milko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Eugeniusz Milko made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Cometuétano booed when S.D NARCEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boleslaw Pacholewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Antoni Paris came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Cometuétano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoni Paris couldn't finish the play. Calisto Zaplana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germán Figueres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kepa Portillo in the 58th minute of play. The goalkeeper, Germán Figueres, was totally fooled by Cometuétano's Antoni Paris, who 99 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
