The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Gavião Kyikatejê booed when Algarrobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Federer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deilmison Davids struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. José Chilavert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavião Kyikatejê. 10 minutes into the match, Diego Armando Lamb had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sitthachat Jampeehom. Gavião Kyikatejê's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Armando Lamb was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Niguel Pasten made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gavião Kyikatejê's Deilmison Davids. Miguel Zuasnabar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but José Chilavert made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Zuasnabar got free with José Chilavert in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Algarrobo getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Diego Armando Lamb hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Miguel Zuasnabar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Chilavert, 2-1. When Archie Brodie came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Gavião Kyikatejê fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Archie Brodie couldn't finish the play. Gavião Kyikatejê's Sitthachat Jampeehom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Armando Lamb in the 46th minute of play.

José Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison Davids, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Algarrobo's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Zuasnabar in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Miguel Zuasnabar notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Algarrobo's José Chilavert. José Chilavert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With his leg Sitthachat Jampeehom managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Algarrobo's Edmundo Cañas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sitthachat Jampeehom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolf Eichmann in the 75th minute of the match. Gavião Kyikatejê's Deilmison Davids managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Niguel Pasten in the 76 minute of the game. In the 80th minute, Miguel Zuasnabar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gavião Kyikatejê fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. In the 89thth minute of the game Miguel Zuasnabar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Algarrobo's José Chilavert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmundo Cañas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Algarrobo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dani Alves in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gavião Kyikatejê fans cheered their team off the field, for while Algarrobo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
