One of Argentino de Banfield:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.F PESTUZOS:s goal. Ray Cano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nunez Berasko, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Argentino de Banfield's Lavan Querubin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ray Cano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ray Cano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Berasko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Cano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Berasko in the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Martín Santiago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.F PESTUZOS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martín Santiago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Nunez Berasko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argentino de Banfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Nunez Berasko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ray Cano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. C.F PESTUZOS made a substitution. Guido Etxeberria replaced Giraldo Urquijo. C.F PESTUZOS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Inguma Briso in the 39th minute. The corner led C.F PESTUZOS's Guido Etxeberria to fire away a dangerous shot which Leonides Valentine despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ray Cano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nunez Berasko, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. C.F PESTUZOS's Ray Cano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Berasko in the 41st minute of play. Argentino de Banfield's Lavan Querubin got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Raimundo Castulo fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argentino de Banfield's protests and gave Raimundo Castulo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Argentino de Banfield getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Raimundo Castulo hit a great ball. Nunez Berasko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martín Santiago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonides Valentine was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Argentino de Banfield's Leonides Valentine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evangelista Hevia in the 56th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Argentino de Banfield's Ray Cano threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nunez Berasko, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 58 minutes, Patxi Ramis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.F PESTUZOS and the Argentino de Banfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonides Valentine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Santiago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in C.F PESTUZOS's zone, Nunez Berasko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ray Cano came out of the goal and Nunez Berasko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evangelista Hevia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Leonides Valentine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, C.F PESTUZOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patxi Ramis to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Martín Santiago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Valentine was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Berasko in the 80th minute of play forced C.F PESTUZOS's goalkeeper Ray Cano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonides Valentine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Santiago in the 82nd minute of play. Nunez Berasko received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ray Cano came out and tried to block the shot, but Nunez Berasko slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 85th minute. Nunez Berasko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ray Cano made a huge save. If Nunez Berasko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Lavan Querubin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Rosalio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Argentino de Banfield's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
