Bray McJon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duarte Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute Rigoberto Vilaprenyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montevideo's Bray McJon was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 9th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Campidelis in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Montevideo's Olavo Matorin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. The audience was convinced that Olavo Matorin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte Carneiro was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Iuri de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After 32 minutes of play, Montevideo's Olavo Matorin made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duarte Carneiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! RACING FBPA's Duarte Carneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save RACING FBPA from getting a goal against them. Duarte Carneiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bray McJon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 35 minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, RACING FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Bray McJon came free, but Duarte Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Olavo Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Olavo Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorginho Campidelis to make the kick off. Bray McJon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natanael de Godoi during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Natanael de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Vilaprenyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Natanael de Godoi threw the ball into play from the sideline. RACING FBPA's Lain Plata quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 67 minutes into the game, Bray McJon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Duarte Carneiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When David Beckham Jr fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RACING FBPA's protests and gave David Beckham Jr a yellow card for diving instead. When Laerte Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Montevideo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laerte Lucas couldn't finish the play. Duarte Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 79th minute Laerte Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duarte Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Matorin in the 84th minute of play. RACING FBPA's Duarte Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 85th minute of play. Montevideo were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after RACING FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christian Barreto took the corner. Lain Plata's late challenge caught a Montevideo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lain Plata helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, RACING FBPA's Lain Plata got a free kick in the 89th minute. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Campidelis in the 94th minute of play. Duarte Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Lucas in the 95th minute of play. Montevideo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
