Grêmio 20 Julho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emil Fărcășan ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Celsinho Castro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sylwester Zarobski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 5 minutes into the game, Jhon Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio 20 Julho the free kick. A collision led to CE LAJEADENSE RS getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jhon Arias hit a great ball. Valdir Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Valdir Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Flavinho Reis made a huge save. 13 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Iigo came free, but Sylwester Zarobski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Fărcășan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Flavinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar de Amaral in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's Valdemar de Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavinho Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Flavinho Reis got control of the ball when Valdir Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute, Bater Palma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sylwester Zarobski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Valdir Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Flavinho Reis made a huge save. Sylwester Zarobski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bater Palma in the 35th minute of the match. Valdir Cavalcante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Flavinho Reis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sylwester Zarobski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zhuo Chao Chuan went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sylwester Zarobski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bater Palma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Valdir Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio 20 Julho's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdir Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Grêmio 20 Julho made a substitution. Fernandinho Cearense replaced Carsyn Grieve. A collision led to Grêmio 20 Julho getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Humberto Soeiro hit a great ball. After 73 minutes, Caetano Saad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CE LAJEADENSE RS and the Grêmio 20 Julho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Flavinho Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar Romero in the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Gilmar Romero made a precise shot to the right of Flavinho Reis. CE LAJEADENSE RS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 89 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's goalkeeper Sylwester Zarobski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhuo Chao Chuan. 91 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Romero came free, but Flavinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, Grêmio 20 Julho's Valdemar de Amaral made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavinho Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
