Bandelocos's Nilson do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Bandelocos from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Walmir Pombal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nilson do Vale. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Nilson do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st match minute, Bandelocos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Tormes to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Luiz Guilherme Varela's late challenge caught a Catugi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Guilherme Varela helped the player get up and apologised. Nilson do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute of the match Catugi FC got a corner. Bandelocos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilson do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Soares in the 67th minute of play. Catugi FC's Paulo Gaizkine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Catugi FC from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilson do Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Catugi FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
