When Tiquinho Soares fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FIEL ALGUSTA's protests and gave Tiquinho Soares a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FIEL ALGUSTA getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Tiquinho Soares hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Lucas got free with Raúl da Silveira in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute Olavo Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Fernandão Recife left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. FIEL ALGUSTA's Raúl da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save FIEL ALGUSTA from getting a goal against them. In the 19th match minute, FIEL ALGUSTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Corderro in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Fernandão Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Vladimir Negri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FIEL ALGUSTA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montevideo the free kick. Raúl da Silveira made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Laerte Lucas sent off a good shot on target. Olavo Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo Pernambucano came free, but Ronaldo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Laerte Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Barreto to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Murillo Pernambucano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Frank Lauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes FIEL ALGUSTA got a freekick which was hit by Rubens Rocha. In the 62nd match minute, FIEL ALGUSTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Raúl da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Fernandez in the 63rd minute of the match. FIEL ALGUSTA's Raúl da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 74th minute of play. Raúl da Silveira came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Olavo Matorin. But to his dismay, Olavo Matorin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. FIEL ALGUSTA's Ludomir Figlewski was substituted for Ruben Corderro. Fernandão Recife spun around in front of the goal 82 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of FIEL ALGUSTA's goal. Laerte Lucas might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raúl da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laerte Lucas ran back to his position shaking his head. Raúl da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the FIEL ALGUSTA defense, Laerte Lucas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raúl da Silveira. The FIEL ALGUSTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raúl da Silveira should have stopped the shot. Montevideo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
