Harold Tronconi scored 3-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Samuel Fiúza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gremio Viana's Amado Melo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cenap İlbilge in the 28 minute of the game. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Grêmio RK75's goalkeeper João Francisco Tinoco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Joaquim Paredes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. João Francisco Tinoco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. If Harold Tronconi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute.
