With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Efrain Salamon saved Celtic FC from getting behind. 27 minutes into the match, Celtic FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Efrain Salamon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes Germany's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edson Oliveira who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Bueno in the 33rd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Vicente Matos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Germany's Ulrich Stein suffered a concussion in the 77th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Chiquinho Mattos's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chiquinho Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Germany booed when Celtic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Salamon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
