The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Augusto Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atak Sehriyar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. The supporters of Alvinegro Carioca booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bakos Endre didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 7 in the game by Bruno Africano from a close distance when the talented Fodor Daniel managed to make a qualified save. Hungary's players were relieved. Alvinegro Carioca's José Augusto Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 10th minute of play. Marcos Para kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. José Augusto Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik in the 18th minute of play. José Augusto Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balazs Lajos in the 35th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper José Augusto Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Augusto Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Katona Janos got a free kick in the 40th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bakos Endre during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bakos Endre hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. A well done corner resulted in Major Barna drilling the ball in to score 0-3 behind Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. José Augusto Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Augusto Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takacs Tibor in the 71st minute of the match. José Augusto Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th match minute, Alvinegro Carioca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Para to maneuver through the defense. Alvinegro Carioca's Enéas Queirós was substituted for Wang Fei Feng. The corner ended in Bruno Africano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Bruno Africano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Bruno Africano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Bakos Endre hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Atak Sehriyar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alvinegro Carioca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Celsinho Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
