With a little luck, Croatia's Ilija Skugor got control of the ball when Cauan Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bruno Romero was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, one of LUSINHA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Norberto das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toni Mauzer in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Toni Mauzer made a precise shot to the right of Norberto das Neves. LUSINHA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Norberto das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Flávio Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LUSINHA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matheus Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LUSINHA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Croatia the free kick. The supporters of Croatia booed when LUSINHA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Martin Bosak came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Croatia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Bosak couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Adelino Borges struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Ilija Skugor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUSINHA. Tiago Gabriel de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Cauan Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silvije Santek charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvije Santek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Silvije Santek got a free kick in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Matheus Leão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilija Skugor. Croatia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matheus Leão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Croatia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
