Nusrettin Ekşioğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 56th minute of the match. Nusrettin Ekşioğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgilijus Tarvydas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. Finans Spor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Üzeyir Acaröz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Finans Spor's Bedri Canıtez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bedri Canıtez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Finans Spor protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bedri Canıtez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Nusrettin Ekşioğlu in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
