The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Argentinos Juniors defense, Adriano Paraense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aquilino Umbruso. The Argentinos Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aquilino Umbruso should have stopped the shot. In the 11th minute, Sven de Zwaan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Argentinos Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Diego Gonzales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Fernandinho Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Petruț Fințescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernandinho Pombal was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 18th match minute, Legion of Boom was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. After 21 minutes of play, Argentinos Juniors's Sven de Zwaan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernandinho Pombal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fernandinho Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Gonzales, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 24th minute, Diego Gonzales left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Argentinos Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Legion of Boom's Fernandinho Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petruț Fințescu in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 minutes, Renatinho Soeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Legion of Boom and the Argentinos Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Renatinho Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Legion of Boom's Renatinho Soeiro got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Renatinho Soeiro off the ground. Renatinho Soeiro hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Argentinos Juniors's Aquilino Umbruso got control of the ball when Adriano Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Petruț Fințescu came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Argentinos Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petruț Fințescu couldn't finish the play. Fernandinho Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven de Zwaan, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Adriano Paraense made the kick off in the second half. Argentinos Juniors's Sven de Zwaan got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petruț Fințescu got free with Fernandinho Pombal in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Legion of Boom getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Adriano Paraense hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Argentinos Juniors's Mats Falch got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute Petruț Fințescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven de Zwaan got the audiences attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 73rd minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petruț Fințescu in the 76th minute of play forced Legion of Boom's goalkeeper Fernandinho Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Legion of Boom's Fernandinho Pombal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Legion of Boom from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the game, Diego Gonzales recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fernandinho Pombal. Diego Gonzales showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. In the 81st minute, Sven de Zwaan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Legion of Boom's goal looked a bit too open when Sven de Zwaan came free, but Fernandinho Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Legion of Boom's goalkeeper Fernandinho Pombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petruț Fințescu. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Chiquinho Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legion of Boom's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Vargas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Umbruso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Mats Falch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Legion of Boom's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Diego Gonzales 88 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. Diego Gonzales struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Fernandinho Pombal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentinos Juniors. If Diego Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Argentinos Juniors's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
