In the 16th minute Carolo Videl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Cañizares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boedo Athletic.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladimiro Llorenc in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Cañizares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nueva Chicago's Joga Leve was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Victoriano Lertxun in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vladimiro Llorenc to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Marinetti in the 55th minute of play forced Nueva Chicago's goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
