Ronaldão Baiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Izaltina FAD's corner Gino de Lima fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nestor Quintal quite easily take care of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Marco Monteiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dráusio Oliveira, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Carlos de Azevedo to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes Izaltina FAD got a freekick which was hit by Gino de Lima. In the 58th minute, Tony da Mata made a precise shot to the right of Nestor Quintal. Independente FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 63 minutes into the match, Izaltina FAD's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Ribeiro came free, but Dráusio Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gino de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Izaltina FAD's Dráusio Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Ribeiro in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Izaltina FAD's zone, Zé Carlos de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráusio Oliveira came out of the goal and Zé Carlos de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino de Lima in the 72nd minute of play. Jaime Cabral hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 74 played minutes, Independente FC's Ciro Ribeiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dráusio Oliveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Independente FC reached it. 85 minutes into the match, Tony da Mata notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Independente FC's Nestor Quintal. Nestor Quintal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tony da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nestor Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
