In the 17th minute Pär Ahlström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Fletcher Main was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gunnilse IS the free kick. The supporters of Gunnilse IS booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fletcher Main didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Gunnilse IS's Alexander Higgins threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Filip Burman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Åberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scotland's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Mark Åberg scored to the left of an out of position Alexander Higgins, making the score, 4-0. Alexander Higgins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Burman in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fletcher Main in the 33rd minute of play forced Gunnilse IS's goalkeeper Gottfrid Kinnman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gunnilse IS's Filip Burman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alexander Higgins. That made the score 5-0 after 36 minutes of play. Jaxson Russell kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Alexander Higgins acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 40th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mark Åberg. Thanks to some nice moves Pär Ahlström could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Alexander Higgins however easily saved by the left post. Pär Ahlström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Higgins having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zac O'Donnell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fletcher Main got free with Gottfrid Kinnman in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Pär Ahlström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Higgins should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pär Ahlström in the 69th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Filip Burman notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Scotland's Alexander Higgins.
