In the 5thth minute of the game Viriato Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mala FC's Allan Varela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Virgílio da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgílio da Rocha got free with Wilson Amorim in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodolfo Miranda's late challenge caught a Mala FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Miranda helped the player get up and apologised. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Allan Varela quite easily take care of the ball. In the 27th minute, Graciano Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes in the game Faustino Almeida did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Daniel Pimentel. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Mala FC's Virgílio da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 38 played minutes Mala FC got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Trancoso. Mala FC's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 40th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgílio da Rocha in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Bruno Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portugal's protests and gave Bruno Bastos a yellow card for diving instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgílio da Rocha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Allan Varela came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Daniel Pimentel struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Allan Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. Portugal's attentive Bruno Bastos managed to snatch the ball when Tadeu Trancoso made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. 67 minutes into the match, Mala FC's goalkeeper Allan Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. Allan Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 71st minute. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Mala FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felipe Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mala FC's Allan Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Mala FC from getting a goal against them. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
