But to his dismay, Chris Nygaard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 11th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olav Graversen to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Orestes Football Club's Erubiel Remicio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Mauro Filipo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erubiel Remicio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. When Bjarne Kirkegaard fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Bjarne Kirkegaard a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. After 30 played minutes, Orestes Football Club's Victorio Gonsalvo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Keld Paulsen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Orestes Football Club reached it. 33 minutes into the match, Orestes Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Mauro Filipo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 34th minute of play forced Orestes Football Club's goalkeeper Mauro Filipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Orestes Football Club's goalkeeper Mauro Filipo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 42 played minutes Orestes Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Roano. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Bertram Svenningsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertram Svenningsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Filipo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Orestes Football Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chris Nygaard was slow to take the kick. During this time Denmark's players had a chance to rest. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Chris Nygaard made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Mikkel Wulff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute, Victorio Gonsalvo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Filipo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Erubiel Remicio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Erubiel Remicio made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After some careless play in the Orestes Football Club defense, Bertram Svenningsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Filipo. The Orestes Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Filipo should have stopped the shot. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Mauro Filipo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Orestes Football Club's Mauro Filipo got control of the ball when Chris Nygaard tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rdth minute of the game Erubiel Remicio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Denmark's Keld Paulsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erubiel Remicio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Orestes Football Club's zone, Bertram Svenningsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Filipo came out of the goal and Bertram Svenningsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Bertram Svenningsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertram Svenningsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
