In the 13th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdis Felbergs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Erik Norström made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Cipriano Sauveur sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute of the match Skövde AIK got a corner. Black horses's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chen Ao Fan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Skövde AIK's Chen Ao Fan to fire away a dangerous shot which Valdis Felbergs despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström got control of the ball when Cipriano Sauveur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. Karl-Erik Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakub Swierczok, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Chen Ao Fan came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Skövde AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chen Ao Fan couldn't finish the play. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakub Swierczok, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Kevin Keegan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skövde AIK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Valdis Felbergs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 33rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Black horses defense, Kurt Hamrin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdis Felbergs. The Black horses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdis Felbergs should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute, Georg Norström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Jakub Swierczok shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georg Norström charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Georg Norström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Georg Norström hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
Kevin Keegans short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Valdis Felbergs to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan got a free kick in the 65th minute. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atso Joenväärä in the 69th minute of play. When Chen Ao Fan came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Skövde AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chen Ao Fan couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Chen Ao Fan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Chen Ao Fan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdis Felbergs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakub Swierczok, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Chen Ao Fan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
