The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Celedonio Dominguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jo Øverås saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Bonet in the 20th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Luis Bonet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Holger Vester was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Bonet in the 22nd minute of play. Dráuzio Lima hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Bonet in the 26th minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Sigurd Storhaug got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jo Øverås made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Francesco Totti sent off a good shot on target. Jo Øverås showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo-Erik Wallin, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. A collision led to Daustad getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Mats Bentsen hit a great ball. If Francesco Totti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. Luis Bonet might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Holger Vester. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Bonet ran back to his position shaking his head. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Bonet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Celedonio Dominguez made the kick off in the second half. Holger Vester was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Bonet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 51 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Luis Bonet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Holger Vester was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, Daustad's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Söderberg came free, but Jo Øverås reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Bonet. Holger Vester came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Daustad's Luis Bonet. But to his dismay, Luis Bonet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Luis Bonet took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Holger Vester to make any attempt to save it. 78 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Bonet came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gösta Söderberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Øverås having to interfere. When Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Daustad's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby IF's zone, Luis Bonet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Holger Vester came out of the goal and Luis Bonet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daustad were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Hammarby IF's much stronger midfield.
