Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute, Fabricio Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Roman Gdaniec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Roman Gdaniec's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Gdaniec went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gdaniec in the 30th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roman Gdaniec to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Girona FC's Zygmunt Wielkopolski got a free kick in the 51st minute. Felipe Barretos short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Lastur Murcia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 55 minutes into the match, Walme Carballido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walme Carballido was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 72ndth minute of the game Alfonso De Pedro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Gdaniec in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute Roman Gdaniec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Girona FC's David Palau was substituted for Roman Gdaniec. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. When Felipinho Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipinho Amorim couldn't finish the play. 87 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso De Pedro came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Girona FC's David Palau nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When the referee ended the match the Girona FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
