The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tord Forsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jay-Jay Okocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jens-Ola Lekberg made in the 10th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Karl-Magnus Håning however managed to control. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tord Forsberg saved Huaröd from getting behind. 13 minutes into the match, Gabriel-Omar Batista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tord Forsberg. Huaröd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel-Omar Batista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Gabriel-Omar Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tord Forsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Gabriel-Omar Batista took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tord Forsberg. Tord Forsberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Huaröd defense, Jay-Jay Okocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tord Forsberg. The Huaröd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tord Forsberg should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Gabriel-Omar Batista made a precise shot to the right of Tord Forsberg. Huaröd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Maximiliano Iigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joar Valrot's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Gabriel-Omar Batista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tord Forsberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Tord Forsberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 49th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Björn Forsell to make the kick off. Jay-Jay Okocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Tord Forsberg made a huge save. Gabriel-Omar Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tord Forsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute Gabriel-Omar Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Forsberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Jaunti kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Fang Sheng Qing was substituted for Jay-Jay Okocha. In the 60th minute, Cristian Jaunti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Huaröd's Tord Forsberg got control of the ball when Gabriel-Omar Batista tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gabriel-Omar Batista struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Tord Forsberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ★Independiente Ψ★. After a defensive mix-up in Huaröd's zone, Gabriel-Omar Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tord Forsberg came out of the goal and Gabriel-Omar Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabriel-Omar Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Huaröd's Tord Forsberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Huaröd from getting a goal against them. Maximiliano Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joar Valrot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jens-Ola Lekberg made in the 89th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Karl-Magnus Håning. Huaröd's Tord Forsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute ★Independiente Ψ★ were awarded a corner. Adan Aresti went to the cornerflag to take it. Maximiliano Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joar Valrot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Huaröd fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ★Independiente Ψ★ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
