Sebastián Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Tipi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastián Sosa came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Les Tigres's Leonardo Tipi. But to his dismay, Leonardo Tipi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A nice corner shot did that Marek Torm got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gonzo Maradona quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 25 minutes into the game, Vikingos FC's Marco Cantona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzo Maradona made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Tipi in the 31st minute of play forced Vikingos FC's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marco Cantona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Les Tigres's Leonardo Tipi got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Les Tigres booed when Vikingos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Manuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Cantona struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Gonzo Maradona didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikingos FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Les Tigres made a substitution. Edvard Võsandi replaced Sermet Erva. Les Tigres's Rodolfo Luken was substituted for Silvano Ihazintu. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Tipi was the one to do the kick off. Marco Cantona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonzo Maradona didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Erramu went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Lucrețiu Filipașcu kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Les Tigres's Gonzo Maradona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Erramu in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Ladislao Erramu made a precise shot to the right of Gonzo Maradona. Les Tigres's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2.
