The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zé Roberto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Cantona in the 7th minute of the match. With a little luck, Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira got control of the ball when Cássio Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josu Onez during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Josu Onez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Cantona in the 12th minute of play. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Cantona in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Playa Malvín's Stamen Tekeliev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastián Sosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Cantona in the 21st minute of play. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vikingos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sandu Mândrilă was slow to take the kick. During this time Playa Malvín's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Playa Malvín's Sandu Mândrilă to fire away a dangerous shot which Sebastián Sosa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marco Cantona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 34 minutes of play, Playa Malvín's Stamen Tekeliev made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastián Sosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Zé Roberto Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 62 minutes into the match, Marco Cantona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Roberto Teixeira. Playa Malvín's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Cantona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Playa Malvín made a substitution. Niva Espellosa replaced Stamen Tekeliev. Playa Malvín's Sesuldo Roque was substituted for Sandu Mândrilă. Zé Roberto Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ladislao Erramu's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Vikingos FC's Marcelo Perico was substituted for Roque Vito. Vikingos FC's Luciano Lleir was substituted for Cássio Lopes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Lleir in the 81st minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game was made by Gamus Rocha with Josu Onez as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Espellosa in the 88th minute of play forced Vikingos FC's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Fausto Jayaga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Playa Malvín's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikingos FC the free kick. Fausto Jayaga kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. When Luciano Lleir came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Vikingos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Lleir couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the game, Ladislao Erramu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Zé Roberto Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vikingos FC had won after a very even match.
