The tension between the INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA and the Poetass FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Serginho Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Erivaldo Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erivaldo Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 23 played minutes INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Pinho. In the 26th minute, Adrianinho Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Adalberto Marinho fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's protests and gave Adalberto Marinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th match minute, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Conrado Rocha was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes of play Poetass FC's Sandrinho Carvalho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Poetass FC's Sandrinho Carvalho got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Serginho Arantes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cássio de Senna, passed just outside the right post. Cássio de Senna didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. In the 61st minute Serginho Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Arantes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cássio de Senna came out and tried to block the shot, but Serginho Arantes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 63rd minute. Poetass FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Washington Munhoz scored to the left of an out of position Cássio de Senna, making the score, 0-5. The audience was convinced that Washington Munhoz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cássio de Senna was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. With a little luck, Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna got control of the ball when Conrado Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Washington Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio de Senna having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Serginho Arantes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cássio de Senna. Serginho Arantes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6.
